I’m your host, Tina Leann, and today, I am thrilled to introduce you to an extraordinary guest, Aida Woodward, who calls herself the “Longevity Diva.”

A Struggle Transformed

Aida Woodward’s journey into the realm of health and wellness began in her early sixties. Her adult life was marked by the struggle of yo-yo dieting and a self-confessed addiction to junk food. However, it was the transformative power of doTERRA essential oils that sparked a significant change in her and her family’s life. The natural solutions provided by these essential oils were so impactful that Aida began sharing and teaching others about their benefits.

Educational Pursuits and New Beginnings

To deepen her understanding of health, Aida studied at the Institute of Integrative Nutrition and the T. Colin Campbell Center for Nutrition Studies. This education taught her how to maintain a healthy weight and a vibrant life through a whole food, plant-based diet. Aida’s life journey also includes retiring from a career in law enforcement and working for the state of Utah for over thirty years, as well as a fifteen-year stint with an international weight loss company, where she helped others with their weight concerns.

At the age of sixty-five, Aida embraced several new roles, including author, certified yoga instructor, speaker, foot zone therapist, and a level three Reiki practitioner. Her favorite quote, “You are never too old to set a new goal or dream a new dream,” by C.S. Lewis, perfectly encapsulates her spirit and determination.

From Law Enforcement to Holistic Health

Aida’s story is one of resilience and transformation. Originally from Maine, she moved to Utah at the age of twenty. She worked in various secretarial positions before transitioning into law enforcement, a move motivated primarily by the better pay. Despite the physical and mental challenges, Aida excelled in her roles, first as a correctional officer and later as a probation and parole officer. She graduated from the police academy at the age of forty-two, an age where many consider slowing down, but not Aida.

A Health Crisis and a New Path

Post-retirement, Aida faced a significant health crisis that led her to explore natural remedies. A persistent illness, initially misunderstood by conventional medicine, pushed her to seek alternatives. Her discovery of the therapeutic benefits of essential oils during this time was a turning point. These oils not only helped her regain health but also inspired her to educate others about natural healing.

Essential Oils: The Beginning of a New Chapter

Aida’s introduction to essential oils was serendipitous. She attended a class out of curiosity and ended up experiencing immediate benefits. This encounter ignited her passion for essential oils, leading her to host parties and educate people about their use. Despite her initial resistance to science, Aida immersed herself in learning about body systems, anatomy, and physiology to better understand and explain the oils’ benefits.

Embracing Plant-Based Living

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Aida’s journey took another transformative turn. She decided to adopt a plant-based diet, a decision initially met with resistance from her husband, Terry. However, the delicious meals Aida prepared soon won him over. This dietary shift not only improved their health but also strengthened Aida’s resolve to promote plant-based living. Her book, “Eat Like Your Life Depends On It,” offers over sixty simple and delicious plant-based recipes, making healthy eating accessible to all.

Coaching and Community Building

Today, Aida coaches women over forty, helping them live their best lives through mindset, movement, meals, and more. Her coaching is deeply rooted in her personal experiences and extensive knowledge. Aida’s approach is holistic, combining the benefits of plant-based nutrition with essential oils, yoga, and foot zoning.

An Advocate for Affirmations and Self-Care

Aida is a strong advocate for the power of affirmations and self-care. Her book, “Keep Calm and Journal On,” guides beginners through journaling, affirmations, and manifesting. She believes that positive affirmations can transform one’s mindset, paving the way for healthier and happier lives.

Menopause and Nutrition

Addressing menopausal concerns, Aida emphasizes the importance of fiber in the diet. She explains that fiber helps flush out excess estrogen and other hormones, alleviating symptoms. Aida provides practical tips on incorporating fiber-rich foods, such as fruits, vegetables, beans, grains, nuts, and seeds, into daily meals.

A Message of Hope and Vitality

Aida’s journey is a testament to the power of perseverance, education, and self-care. Her mission is to reach as many people as possible, spreading the message that good health is attainable at any age. With her new book, “Age with Vitality,” she aims to provide readers with practical tips and modalities to enhance their health and well-being.
